Built in 1998 and 1999, Songcrafters was designed from the ground up to operate in the new century as a state-of-the-art, full service, digital recording facility. No expense was spared in creating the four recording chambers that make up the main recording studio. Each room has unique and distinctive acoustics that can be shaped as needed to achieve just the right sound for any instrument or vocalist. From its inception, one of the primary goals was to create a clean, comfortable working environment for the client so they can relax and be creative. One of the most frequent questions is always "Why would you build a studio of this quality out in the middle of nowhere?" The answer is multiphase. At first glance, Songcrafters may appear to be in the "middle of nowhere", but actually it is centrally located between State College, Bloomsburg, Williamsport, and Harrisburg. Second, as you can see from the pictures, BEAVER SPRINGS is a charming little town, removed from the problems of "city life" but still well within the reach of modernization. The town is a beautiful little "Norman Rockwell" community. From the Songcrafters parking lot, church steeples, playgrounds, mountains, ridges, fields, forests, and all manner of flora and fauna are visible. Central PA has a low crime rate and a high incidence of blue skies and green grass. The staff at Songcrafters is greatful and proud to be a part of Beaver Springs, and all of Central Pennsylvania. Although Songcrafters is primarily a Gospel/Southern Gospel recording facility, all genres of music can be and have been recorded here. Rock, Pop, Country, Blues, Ethnic, and Folk musicians have been using Songcrafters unique designs and top-of-the-line digital equipment to enhance the sounds of their projects. In addition, Songcrafters has been used as a mixdown facility for projects recorded elsewhere. The control room was specifically designed with mixdown in mind. A different studio with a fresh set of ears is often what today's discerning engineers need to put the finishing touches on a mix. Also, the production staff uses the extensive midi equipment, synths and samplers, to provide sweetening by adding digital orchestras to acoustic recordings. Full orchestral arrangements are a specialty at Songcrafters creating a resource for songwriters to have their music produced in a slick, polished, and clean way.
